HITB AI Village + Self Racing Car Challenge

May 9th & 10th

What Is It?

Build, train, and race a self-driving model car!

A team based challenge (3 members per team), to build, train, and race a self-driving model car based on the 1/16th scale Donkey Car project (http://www.donkeycar.com/) – An open source DIY self driving platform for small scale cars.

Teams will be provided with 1 donkey car kit per team (yes, you need to return them to us or you can buy them from us – each kit is worth approximately USD 285 each) – You have 3 days to build, test and race your cars!

Rules

  • Finish 3 consecutives laps or DNF (Did Not Finish). Fastest single lap wins.

  • To complete the lap the car must go around all cones at the corners. Hitting a cone or passing a cone on the wrong side will always trigger a DNF.

  • Cones will be placed in a specific position determined before the race begin and maintain at the same position throughout the race.

AI Time Trial

Each team is given 1-2 chance (@5 minutes) for the time trial. First come first serve. The team should register their attempt trackmaster and trackmaster will assign a timeslot to them.

AI vs AI Head to Head
